Match 1: Doug Williams w/Magnus vs. Amazing Red.
Williams is accompanied as always by Magnus.
Williams and Red tie up, Williams with the go-behind arm lock swiftly reversed by Red. Williams gets out of it by dropping down and using a drop toe hold to take Red down. He then applies a front face lock. Both rise from the mat, Williams locks in an arm bar, whipping Red off into the ropes. Williams with a tilt-a-whirl which Red lands on his feet from. Red goes for a roundhouse kick, ducked by Williams, allowing red to try another kick which connects with Williams’ face. Red runs off the ropes but is taken down by the shoulder of Williams. Williams off the ropes. Red, on his back, puts his feet up. Williams cartwheels out of it and spins around to deliver a kick to the face which Red ducks. Red manages to roll up Williams for a two count.
Red and Williams take a breather after that. Williams asks for Magnus’ advice.
The two go to tie up again. Williams drops down and goes behind, gut-wrenching Red down to the floor front first. Red reverses as soon as he hits the floor into a hammerlock. Both to a vertical base. Williams reverses the hold to break it and deliver an uppercut then drive Red into the corner. A kick to the stomach and a right hand to Red. Williams shoots Red into the corner. Williams follows. Red moves. Red with an arm drag, and Williams is up and running against the ropes. Red with a drop toe hold and a running dropkick to the head of Williams, who rolls out of the ring to recuperate. Magnus comes over to check on Williams as Red lines up a high risk move. Red jumps the ropes, landing on the apron as Williams slides back in the ring. Red is fully aware of Williams’ plan. Red with a springboard cross body. Two count.
Williams backs into a corner, and Red shoots two right hands to his face. He whips Williams to the corner, but it’s reversed and Williams charges in. Red gets a boot up, which is caught by Williams, leaving Red wide open for a kick to the groin/thigh. Williams with a short-arm clothesline straight after. Two count, and a break.
We come back with Williams on top. Delivering two knees to the back of Red, then a fist drop and a two count from the pin. Williams chokes Red on the mat after a quick word with the referee.
Back up, Williams powers Red down with a high scoop slam, jumps off the bottom rope and drops the knee onto Red’s chest. Williams with a foot choke while Red is partially outside the ring. Williams distracts the referee, allowing Magnus to continue the choking.
Williams grabs Red and knees him in the head. Red staggers around the ring a bit until Williams delivers a shot to Red’s throat. He whips Red to the corner and follows in with a high knee, throwing Red to the mat straight after. Williams to the top rope, Red back up and a spinning wheel kick to the head of Williams! Red runs to the opposite corner, awaiting Williams’ rise back up in his corner. Red with the running three-kick combo to the mid-section. Red runs off the ropes, passing Williams once, then a beautiful head scissors. Williams rolls out of the ring, walks around to the ramp side and gets up on the apron. Red knocks him back down with a low kick. Magnus is over to help Williams out. Red lines himself up to bounce off the ropes and comes back with an over-the-top-rope spinning corkscrew plancha taking the British Invasion out! Red pushes Williams back into the ring and climbs the corner to the top. Williams gets up and Magnus is up on the apron to push Red off into the ring. Red kicks Magnus off, but it gives Williams enough time to get a right hand in on Red. Williams climbs the corner, but is pushed down by Red, who flies with a high spinning face plant! Red covers, but Magnus is on the apron to distract the referee. Williams gets back up into the corner as Red confronts Magnus, who backs off the apron. Red into the opposite corner. He charges in, but Williams moves, sending Red hard into the corner post shoulder first. Red is wide open for the Chaos Theory. Red momentarily gets stuck during the roll through, but Williams completes the move and this one is over.
Doug Williams advances from a fantastic wrestling match.
