Mid-Week Report – TNA UK Ratings + More

Mid-Week Report

Raymond Mullan

Time for the mid-week report, thought i’d give you a quick update with general goings on with the site as well as general musings and points of interest for the UK TNA fan.

UK iMPACT! on Bravo Ratings

UK ratings for Impact are in.  For the week ending May 2 show iMPACT! had 105,000 viewers on the first airing and another 48,000 for the replay an hour later. RAW did 123,000 live and 45,000 for the Thursday replay, while SmackDown! drew 101,000 viewers. Superstars had 44,000 and a replay of WWE Extreme Rules had 75,000 viewers tune in.

So as you can see we are still down on the UK record 140,000+ viewers that Impact was getting in February following Hogan’s debut but still up significantly and certainly competition for WWE by coming close to RAW’s numbers and outdrawing all other WWE programming, so some definite positives there for TNA in the UK, maybe they should up sticks and move here? 🙂

And just an FYI for those that didn’t see this but TNA recently renewed its agreement with Bravo in January to continue to broadcast “TNA iMPACT!” at 21:00 on Saturdays. The deal will run for the next 3 years, with a strong possibility of it being renewed once again after that time period. TNA are said to be very proud of the way iMPACT! performs in the United Kingdom, with iMPACT! beating WWE programming on a weekly basis.

I’m working to try and get ratings for the Pay-Per View broadcasts and Xplosion airings on Extreme Sports, will post these when i get them.

Wrestle Zone UK

Just a quick it also i’m happy to announce that the lovely Sue of Wrestle Zone UK has invited me to work with WZUK, contributing as TNA writer for TNA Impact, Xplosion and Pay-Per View reports. So now you can catch my work over there aswell. Sue and the crew at Wrestle Zone UK do a smashing job of providing the UK fan with UK geared news, rumours, opinion and reports and i’m happy to be a part of it going forward.

I’m currently working on a column regarding the pros and cons of TNA following WWE’s lead and targeting the PG demographic, i hope to have it uploaded this evening so stay tuned, will be interested in getting your opinions on this.
