“A Flair for the dramatics“

Saturday 12/06/2010 @ 9pm on Bravo. Originally aired Thursday 10/06/2010 on SPIKE!

Commentators: Mike Tenay & Taz

We open with a recap of last weeks iMPACT! specifically Mr. Anderson’s face turn, along with the Styles/Flair saga, and RVD’s win in the four way.

We “get ready to fly” as the Phenemonal One – AJ Styles makes his way to the ring in a mighty fine suit, he’s backed up by the rest of Flair’s crew – Beer Money, Desmond Wolfe and Kazarian. Ric Flair a noticeable absentee tongiht, wonder where their going with this? Styles on the mic. Styles says Flair is not with us. Due to his absence, AJ will take control of the situation. The situation is that when he arrived, he learned we was in an 8 man tag. He knows that an 8 man tag consists of two teams of four. The problem is that there are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 guys in the ring. In the world that we live in, we know that five does not work. Think about it, how many Beatles were there? Four. The Fantastic Four. Four. The Four Horsemen. Four. But AJ has a solution to the problem. It’s like this. Kazarian’s out, he didn’t make the cut. Kaz doesn’t like that. 2001 a space odyssey hits and Here comes the Nature Boy.

Wait, it’s Jay Lethal! Yes!. Lethal on the mic –  WOO! The Nature Boy is in the house. Did he hear AJ Styles say he was in charge tonight? AJ, he’s not the man, he’ll never be the man. There’s only one man that can be in charge, and that’s the Nature Boy. As far as he’s concerned, he’s looking at God right now. Because these shows cost 500, this suit cost 5,000, and he doesn’t know how much the suit AJ’s wearing costs, but he would be embarrassed to wear it. He’s the 16, 16, 16 time World…(he takes the jacket off and starts strutting on the stage) World Champion. AJ was right about one thing, there is definitely an 8 man tag. It’s no secret that he specializes in big men, so he went out and found the biggest, the Monster Abyss.

Abyss makes his way out to join Lethal. And Desmond, as far as Chelsea’s concerned, she’ll be coming around the mountain when she comes. WOOO! Up next, we have a man, they named him two times, two times, two times. Mr. ANDERSON! And here he comes. ANDERSON! With a team like this, they can’t win. Styles says that he’s got all these guys behind him, except for Kazarian because he doesn’t count, that will beat the piss out of every one of them. But there’s only three of them. Lethal says the big man counts as two. So Lethal, Anderson and the two big men are gonna do battle right now. Lethal flies into the ring over the top, taking out Styles and Wolfe. Huge brawl in the ring commences. Styles lowblows Lethal and the heels take advantages of the numbers game. HERE COMES HARDY! Hardy runs out through the crowd. He starts taking it to all of the heels. The faces stand tall as the heels bail out. Guess we have a main event tonight!

We see Kendrick in the back, saying that he understands his life purpose. He’s here in TNA to capture the X-Division title, a title that has no limitations. He proceeds to babble on and i have no idea what the hell he’s saying. He thanks us for our time.

We go to break.

Back from the break and the crazy one himself, Brian Kendrick is on his way to the ring.

Match 1 : Brian Kendrick vs Homicide

  • When was the last time that either of these guys we featured on Impact? Before he comes out, Homicide says he’s about to show us crazy, 5150 street style.
  • The bell rings, but here comes the X-Division champion Douglas Williams. He joins Tenay and Taz on commentary.
  • Tie up to start, and Homicide pushes Kendrick in the corner.
  • Homicide with the shots now.
  • He’s now choking Kendrick in the ropes.
  • Shot to the back of the head by Homicide, and does it again.
  • He locks in a rear chin lock, but the ref tells him to break it.
  • Kicks to the leg by Kendrick.
  • Forearms by Kendrick but to no avail as Homicide takes control.
  • Gringo Killa coming up, but Kendrick counters out.
  • Elbow in the corner by Homicide takes Kendrick down.
  • Huge T-Bone suplex by Homicide. 2 count.
  • Stomps in the corner by Homicide, and he’s now choking Kendrick.
  • Face Wash by Homicide drills Kendrick in the face, and he does it again.
  • Sitout slam by Homicide, and Kendrick kicks out of the pin at two.
  • Kendrick counters a Gringo Cutter with a forearm to the back of the head.
  • Shots in the corner by Kendrick.
  • Homicide throws Kendrick in the corner.
  • Snapmare by Homicide and he takes the tape off his wrists.
  • The ref grabs it from him, but Homicide takes the tape off his other wrist and starts choking Kendrick with it.
  • Kendrick with the forearms.
  • Enzuigiri connects, and they now go at it on the ramp.
  • Kendrick starts slamming Homicide’s head into the ramp.
  • Kendrick goes back into the ring, but Homicide goes under the ring and grabs a toolbox.
  • He empties it out and grabs a hammer and nail.
  • He drops the hammer and goes after Kendrick.
  • The ref takes the nail away, and Kendrick boots Homicide in the face.
  • Covers for the 1….2…3!!!
  • Winner: Brian Kendrick
  • What? A boot to the face?
  • Bit of a lackluster bout from these two. Both good workers, i was expecting better.

In the back we see an all out brawl between the dudleys and Ink Inc. as security try to separate them.

We cut to the ring where Jesse Neal and Shannon Moore are out with the mic. I’m guessing there was a break before this in the US airing, either that or Neal’s learnt to fly. Neal calls Bubba out. Here we go. Ray comes out, looking super serial. Security cuts him off. Ray tells them to get out of his way. Ray tells Neal to talk. Neal says if he has a problem with him, settle it like a man. And what was the deal with Ray laying him out and putting cards on them? Ray doesn’t know what he’s talking about, but Neal’s ego is growing. Neal thinks he’s better than him? Ray reminds Jesse that he’s Brother Ray, one of the most legit tough guys in the wrestling business. He brought Neal into the business, and he’s going to take him out. Neal says he’s always looked up to Bubba. Ray says he doesn’t need his approval, he’s a nobody. He tells him to think about that before he came to 3D, he was nothing but a failure in the Navy. Neal’s pissed. After Slammiversary, if he has anything to do with it, he’ll be a failure in the wrestling business also. Ray asks Neal if Shannon has something to say, calling him a bitch. Shannon says the book of Dilligaf says that Ray is the biggest douchebag on the planet. He tells him to get him and his puppet out of here. Devon says that he’s gonna give Shannon a pass. Jesse has a pass because he trained him, but he’s never liked Shannon from the get go, but he understood the situation. He tells Ray to get his head on straight and leave the kid alone. Devon now walks out. Ray attacks Neal from behind and then runs out.

Tenay reminds us about what Sting did to Jarrett at Sacrifice. We get a video recap of the event. Later tonight we’re gonna hear from Jeff Jarrett about Sting.

Morgan and Bischoff with Miss Tessmacher are in the back. Morgan wants to know who their partner is at Slammiversary. Bischoff has a tag team partner for them. Hulk Hogan is waiting for him at the entrance with his partner, and his title match is coming up next.

We hear from Jeff Jarrett, who says it wasn’t the same Sting he’s been in the ring with before, he’s possessed with some sort of evil. He’s going to get revenge, but it’s not going to be anytime soon. Jeff says Sting’s not being a man about this. Jarrett’s not going to be at Slammiversary this year. He’s going to get his answers, he promises him that. Guess it makes sense then to not have King of the Mountain match without Jarrett there, but still a bummer.

Morgan comes out, and the Hulkster soon follows. He says Morgan is the biggest crybaby he knows. There’s a reason he’s in the ring by himself, he’s never seen anybody stab so many people in the back so fast. Hogan’s got his tag team partner right here. Does Viva La Raza sound familiar to him? WTF? Konnan?? Nah…….It’s Supermex, Hernandez. Good, but still not K-Dawg ladies and gentlemen lol! Hernandez flies right over the top and takes out Hernandez. Morgan soon bails out, but Hernandez isn’t done. Hogan joins commentary as Hernandez rolls Morgan back into the ring. Splash in the corner by Hernandez, and he drills Morgan with a spinebuster. He wraps his shirt around Morgan’s neck and starts choking him out. Hernandez refuses to let go. He finally does, leaving Morgan dead in the ring. Hogan informs us that Morgan vs Hernandez is set for Slammiversary. At least it’ll be better than the tag title match. The EMT’s come out and put Morgan on the stretcher. But wait, the wolfpac music hits and here comes The Band! It looks like Hall and Young plan on defending the belts. Security for some reason leaves Morgan in the ring on the stretcher.

Match 2 : TNA World Tag Team Championship Match – Matt Morgan vs The Band(C)

  • Hiliarious how the Band continue to work around the rules.
  • Eric Young does a warmup
  • Runs over and covers Morgan for the three count
  • Winners: The Band

Christy’s in the back with RVD. Rob says that his strategy is the same. He’s going to show Sting why he’s world champion. If Sting wants the belt, he’s gonna have to come and get it. Sting attacks Rob from behind with a baseball bat and begins choking RVD. He’s on top of Rob and hits him with the rights and lefts. He then picks up the belt and walks off with it. Wow i actually didn’t expect that, awesome.

We’re back, and we get a recap of Sting beating down RVD. We see officials attending to RVD. He doesn’t know where his title is. Christy tells him that Sting took it. Rob gets up and goes looking for Sting.

Angle comes down and gets the mic. He says that at Slammiversary, his first victim in the TNA Top Ten will be Kazarian, who happens to be an excellent X-Division wrestler. So to prepare for that, he invited his friend who is one of the greatest X-Division wrestlers out there. He told him not to hold back but to throw everything including the kitchen sink at him…..its Amazing Red! Yes this is gonna be a helluva match guys!

Match 3 : Kurt Angle vs Amazing Red

  • Tie up to start, and Angle locks in a headlock.
  • Red pushes him off but gets hit with a shoulder block.
  • Arm drag by Red, and he follows up with a head scissors.
  • Red flips out of a german suplex but runs right into a belly to belly suplex.
  • European uppercut by Angle.
  • Red sends Angle flying to the outside.
  • Red lands on his feet on a plancha.
  • He gets elevated to the apron but runs at Angle and hits a hurricanrana.
  • Back in the ring now as Red goes springboard, but Angle ducks.
  • Angle then kills him with a clothesline.
  • Olympic Slam countered by Red with a DDT.
  • Enzuigiri by Red. Springboard Red Eye connects. 1…2…nooo!
  • Huge german suplex by Angle.
  • He pulls the straps down.
  • Red counters an Olympic Slam with an armdrag.
  • Red misses the first kick but hits the second.
  • Projectile Hurricanrana connects.
  • Pin but only two.
  • Red Fusion misses.
  • ANGLE SLAM!! Forget about it this ones over!
  • Winner: Kurt Angle
  • Afterward Kurt helps Red to his feet and they embrace….i’m a sucker for a face ending.

We cut to Sting in the back. Sting says he’s in possession of it now, but Sunday, he’s going to own it. Just like he told Rob, when he takes the World Title, the vail will be lifted from everyone’s eyes. The word of the month around here is Deception. He has it written on the belt. Wrapped around Rob’s waist, whether he’s in on it or not, that’s what the belt represents. Change is coming. It’s showtime.

We’re back from the break, and we get a part of the Anniversary Before the Bell preview in which TNA runs through their history, starting with their first show, to Angle making his debut announcement, to Hogan announcing his signing with the company. Dixie said they’ve grown TNA one fan at a time, and it’s exciting to see how much they’ve grown. Hogan says their talent doesn’t miss, they’re consistent. Angle says that the reason TNA has succeeded is because of the wrestlers. They’ve elevated themselves and the company. For the first time ever it’s Sting vs Rob Van Dam for the World Title. We hear from different people about the match. We then run down the rest of the card, as Anderson and Hardy take on Beer Money, Angle vs Kaz, Styles vs Lethal, Wolfe vs Abyss in a Monster’s Ball match too.

We see RVD walking around the back looking for Sting. He goes up into the rafters as we head to commercial.

Match 4 : AJ Styles, Desmond Wolfe and Beer Money vs Jeff Hardy, Mr. Anderson, Jay Lethal and Abyss (w/ Chelsea)

  • Lethal and Roode start things off.
  • Roode gets the advantage, but Lethal starts to fight back.

  • Clothesline by Lethal. Tag to Abyss.
  • Right hands by Abyss in the corner.
  • Roode avoids Abyss in the corner and tags in Storm.

Can’t give this show enough praise, really really enjoyed it.
