TNA News and Rumours Roundup: Batista-TNA?; Flair Contract Status, Hogan reality show plus more!

Dave Batista’s contract with WWE has expired and he is a free agent. Batista claims TNA did make him an offer but with the large amount of money they have spent on bringing in other big names recently, they couldn’t come close to matching what he had been earning in WWE.

Hulk Hogan has been negotiating with A&E, TruTV and Fox about another reality show based on himself. Hogan wants the show to be called “The Resurrection of Hulk Hogan.” The Hulkster will be a guest on “The Hour” on CBC in Canada tonight. He’ll be alongside Harrison Ford and Terry Gilliam.

As noted earlier here on the website, while WWE has the name Tommy Dreamer trademarked, Dreamer can still use the name in TNA and anywhere else he wants since he can show that he’s used the name before WWE. As everyone knows, Dreamer used the name for years before joining WWE.

Shannon Moore apparently suffered an ankle injury at this week’s iMPACT tapings but doesn’t look like he will miss any time.

Ric Flair’s TNA contract was for 52 dates over a one-year period. Since he has appeared on virtually all of TNA’s television and pay-per-view events, the company will likely have to sign him to a new contract soon. One bargaining chip for TNA in the negotiations is their ability to bring in Ric Flair’s son, Reid.

Christopher Daniels has not been in talks with TNA about returning despite rumors stating otherwise.

TNA is having their superstars appear at Brooklyn Cyclones games in order to promote the outdoor TNA event and fireworks show. The show will be one of the biggest live events in the company’s history. TNA Knockout Velvet Sky will appear at tonight’s Brooklyn Cyclones baseball game. She’s throwing out the first pitch and signing autographs and on July 1 Team 3D will appear at a Cyclones game as well.
