Time for the weekly news and rumors report, this will be my last update until Friday as i’ll be out of town over the next couple of days, but will return with a lot of important news….stay tuned. – Ray

» Samoa Joe was said to be very upset following his match with Jeff Hardy on iMPACT! last week, which ended in a time limit draw. Joe was hot following the bout because he felt the finish was given away by TNA having ring announcer Jeremy Borash say there were 30 seconds remaining when he specifically asked them not to.

» TNA has contacted some Ring of Honor stars about working iMPACT dark matches this month. Former ROH star Xavier worked a tryout match last week at the TV tapings.

» Former WWE star Gene Snitsky has been apparently been trying to get into TNA and ROH.

– As noted on the TNA UK Twitter feed yesterday, Thursday’s episode of iMPACT! scored a 1.22 (1.2) cable rating in the USA, its highest rating since February 18th. Overall, the show drew 1.65 million viewers. Much of the ratings increase can be attributed to the the male 12-17 demographic, which scored a 1.21 compared to last week’s 0.97. Overall, viewership was up nearly 15 percent compared to last week’s 1.06 rating. It was also up 22 percent compared to the program’s average rating of 1.00 since returning to Thursday nights on May 13.

– An official Hulk Hogan fan page has been set up on Facebook, according to a post made this morning by Eric Bischoff. The page features a special interactive feature in which fans can give their personal pictures “The Ultimate Hulk Hogan Makeover.” The page is located at

– Tommy Dreamer tweeted the following: “I can’t thank everyone for their thoughts & prayers. Beulah’s mom passed away. Why we must always celebrate life. I love you all.” Prior to this, Dreamer had tweeted the following: “Beulahs mom is having heart surgery since 8am. Some complications. Need positive thoughts & prayers for my family. Plz luv ya all Update beulahs mom had 5 bypass surgeries. Never sick. Next 72 hours r critical. Why u must always appreciate life. Thanks for prayers Thanks for watching Impact. Just got call Beulah’s mom needs emergency surgery. I am in NY she Mich w/ kids. Hardest part of job. – The September 24 TNA event at the ECW Arena is no longer listed by either TNA or the arena itself.

– AJ Styles got his first tattoo at Shannon Moore’s tattoo parlour “the Gas Chamber” see pictured on the left. The dates are of each of his children’s birthdays.

– TNA World Tag Team Champion Alex Shelley was pulled from Saturday night’s Pro Wrestling Guerrilla “Seven” event due to an injury he sustained at this week’s iMPACT! television tapings. Shelley and partner Chris Sabin were originally scheduled to compete in a match for the promotion’s Tag Team Championship.

– The promotional blurb for TNA No Surrender on September 5th reads: “For the first time ever on Pay-per-View, it’s Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Hardy. Only one will survive. TNA Wrestling presents No Surrender Live! Sunday September 5th only on Pay-per-View.” A poster for TNA No Surrender recently surfaced. It features Mr. Anderson screaming. – Murphy and Gunner, the two TNA security guys who wrestled Jeff Hardy and Mr. Anderson last Thursday night, are NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion Mikael Judas and NWA National Champion Phil Shatter.

– Balls Mahoney’s name has disappeared from the list of people who will be at TNA Hardcore Justice. That said, Taz’s name is also gone from the list as he’s likely to be calling the show. Mahoney was expected to team with Axl Rotten at the show. We’ll keep you posted as we get more.

– The name “Justin Credible” has been trademarked with regard to professional wrestling by a woman named Christine Villani of Chelsea, MA. PJ Polacho, who has wrestled under the name Justin Credible since 1997, lives in Connecticut. It is expected that he will still be able to use the name should he work the Hardcore Justice PPV, as he has used it before.

– Here is video of Hulk Hogan arriving on the red carpet at the Comedy Central Roast of David Hasselhoff. According to a fan report, during the roast, Hogan ripped off his trademark Hulkamania shirt, revealing a “Suck it Hoff” T-Shirt. The event will air on Comedy Central in a few weeks, and then be released on DVD.

– Dixie Carter posted the following on her Twitter today… “Just spoke to Dreamer. SABU is confirmed for HardCORE Justice this Sunday.”

– As noted over the weekend here on the website, the official TNA Wrestling website has pulled Balls Mahoney and Taz from its list of “Hardcore Originals” advertised for the HardCORE Justice pay-per-view. The former ECW performers were announced to appear at the event following Thursday’s iMPACT! but quietly removed over the weekend. Still no word on why just yet.

– One match that was discussed for the 8/8 TNA HardCORE Justice PPV would have pitted long-time rivals Ric Flair vs. former ECW champion “The Franchise” Shane Douglas. Flair was approached about doing the match, but the “Nature Boy” rejected it.

– Hulk Hogan’s singer daughter Brooke is facing legal action from her former producers over allegations she failed to properly credit them for work completed for her 2009 album THE REDEMPTION. Pop star and reality TV regular Brooke Hogan is being sued by bosses at Jamaican production company J 2 over the instrumental for the track Trust Me, which featured on the album. The 22 year old is accused of failing to give due credit in the liner notes of the record, which instead named one of Hogan’s associates as the producer of the song. J 2 executives filed suit in Manhattan federal court in New York on Thursday (29Jul10) and they are seeking at least $200,000 (£133,330) in compensation, according to the New York Post.
