Episode 6 – “The Hogan Controversy“

Aired Friday 03/12/2010 @ 11pm on Extreme Sports Channel

Hosted By: Mick Foley

We open with footage of Jeff Jarrett busting in on Hogan’s post match interview and guitaring him over the head then cut to the usual TNA Epics Intro. We join the Hardcore Legend himself, Mick Foley in the studio. This episode, we’re taking a look at one of the most controversial moments in wrestling history when Jeff Jarrett took TNA to Hulk Hogan!

Highlights from the post match attack by Jarrett on Hogan during his post-match press conference at the Tokyo Dome in Japan following his NJPW bout with Masa Chono.

Rare footage of Jarrett addressing the situation the following week on TNA’s weekly PPV. Jarrett is attacked by Vince Russo when he begins mentioning the Bash at the Beach 2000 incident, they brawl throughout the Asylum, Jarrett eventually winning out. If i recall correctly part of the deal with Hogan coming in was the removal of Vince Russo, i think this was their way of writing him out as he had been a regular on-screen character at the time.

Back from a commercial break, we are shown footage from January 2008 as Jeff Jarrett, in the Tokyo Dome for Global iMPACT! takes us back to the spot where the Hogan Controversy occured. Nice segment.

We get footage from the October 29th 2003 edition of TNA’s weekly PPV as Jeff Jarrett takes on Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Rick Steiner. There’s very little footage of these matches on the net but you can view it here –

Following Jarretts decimation of Hogan’s friends, Jimmy Hart promises the return of Sting to take on Jarrett next week, and wouldn’t you know – our Epics Main Event this week is Sting defeating NWA World Champion Jeff Jarrett via DQ from the November 5th 2003 edition of TNA on PPV.
