TNA Wrestling’s TV Deal with Extreme Sports Expired. Official Response from TNA.

TNA iMPACT!

TNA iMPACT!

As you have probably seen, TNA programming is no longer appearing in the listings for the Extreme Sports Channel and TNA have released updates via Twitter and Facebook stating UK Viewers will be able to watch the Genesis PPV via TNAOnDemand.com, this is no coincidence.

In a facebook update TNA Confirmed “TNA’s contract with the Extreme Sports Channel ended in December 2010. We are currently waiting for a timeslot from Sky for TNA programming including iMPACT! and our monthly events. In the meantime both are available for fans in the UK and Ireland on TNAondemand.com”

Whilst the loss of TNA programming on Extreme may have initially seemed like another blow for TNA in the UK, this actually may be great  news for TNA going forward, as their move to a much more mainstream Sky TV channel should boost brand awareness and the fact that the channel appears willing to invest in additional programming in the form of PPV content should bode well and indicate that they are investing in TNA Wrestling long-term.

More on this as i get it, stay tuned.
