TNA Sacrifice 2011 Poster Revealed

TNA Wrestling have issued the posters for May’s TNA Sacrifice Pay-Per View to PPV carriers. The poster prominently features Sting and has the tag line – “Will one man’s legacy fulfill another man’s dream”. One of the coolest Pay-Per View Posters ever in my opinion.

TNA UK TV Ratings – Week Ending 23 May 2010

TNA IMPACT!

TNA IMPACT!

The UK TV Ratings are in for the week ending 23rd May 2010. According to the Broadcasters Audience Research Board – TNA iMPACT! on Bravo drew 80,000 viewers for the “10 Card Stud” show which was headlined by Sting vs Jeff Hardy.  Meanwhile TNA Xplosion and TNA Sacrifice on Extreme Sports were outside the channels top 10 rankings drawing under 11,000 viewers.

This was down approximately 18,000 viewers from the previous weeks iMPACT!. Meanwhile WWE Late Night Raw on Sky Sports 3 drew 97,000 viewers – up 19,000 viewers from the previous weeks episode. This ends TNA iMPACT’s recent win streak over RAW and changes the total weeks ratings wins for the year to 11-9 in favor of TNA iMPACT!

Broadcast Friday 21/05/2010 at 10pm on the Extreme Sports Channel.Originally aired Live on Pay-Per View in the United States – Sunday 16/05/2010

Commentators: Mike Tenay & Taz

The pyro hits and we are LIVE! From Universal Studios in Orlando, FL for TNA Sacrifice 2010! Mike Tenay welcomes us to the show. He immediately begins hyping the World Title match between AJ Styles and RVD later tonight in a rematch from a few weeks ago which saw the “Whole F’N Show” RVD capture his first ever TNA Title, tonight will see his first TNA PPV defense. But right now its time to hit the ring for a multi-tag match for the number 1 contendership to the TNA World Tag-Team titles.

Match 1: TNA Tag-Team Title Number #1 contenders match – Motor City Machine Guns vs Beer Money Inc. vs Team 3D

  • Honestly I’m apprehensive about this one, I’m not usually a fan of Tag Team matches with more than two teams. Too much of it involves guys slapping an unsuspecting opponent on the back, tagging themselves in while the “slappee” shoots back that “WTF?” face. By the end, it all dissolves down into chaos and the legal tags don’t even matter.
  • Robert Roode and Alex Shelley start things off in this match.
  • They lock up and Roode snap mares Shelley into a rear chin lock.
  • Shelley is right out of it, and they chain wrestle for a bit.
  • Big shoulder block from Roode that takes Shelley off his feet
  • a wheelbarrow into a bulldog from Shelley, covers but only gets a two.
  • Shelley charges Roode, but he runs into a tilt a whirl backbreaker.
  • Roode tags in Storm and Storm comes in with a big right hand to Shelley’s face before taking Sabin off the apron.
  • Three Way Tag - Sacrifice 2010

Three Way Tag - Sacrifice 2010

Shelley tries for a superkick, but Storm rolls to the outside, where he eats a round kick from Sabin. Back in the ring we get some great double team work from the Guns on Roode.

  • Sabin tags in and we get some double team on Storm’s arm.
  • Storm is able to come right back though with a high knee, but Brother Ray slaps him on the back tagging himself in (told you it would happen!)
  • Ray locks up with Sabin and goes to work on his arm, taking him down to the mat, and wrenching down again.
  • Ray goes to the well once too often and Sabin is able to turn the tide with a couple of round kicks to the ribs. Sabin avoids an elbow drop, but he eats a big right hand and a big boot from Ray.
  • D-Von tags in and we get a backbreaker/leg drop combo that’s good for a near fall that’s broken up by Shelley.
  • Shelley leap frogs D-Von and hits a dropkick, but when he tries to slingshot himself on top of Bubba on the outside, Ray moves and Sabin crashes. Read more of this post

Extreme-ly Frustrating?

Extreme Sports Channel

Extreme Sports Channel

Well we all know Extreme Sports Channels initial offering of TNA Destination X for UK viewers was a complete disaster when a scheduling issue meant the end of the show was cut off. Well it seems the second offering is due to make many TNA fans just as irate.

Many of you contacted me via email to ask if TNA Sacrifice is to be broadcast on Extreme Sports as initially stated – 10 days following the live us broadcast, that would mean this Friday the 21st of May……however as many of you have noticed it dosen’t appear to be listed. I’ve checked the listings on my V+ box and i don’t see it either.

However a quick check on UK TV Guide will show that its set to broadcast the FOLLOWING week after Xplosion at 10pm on the 28th may. Thats a 10 -day tape delay! And furthermore since Bravo shows impact on a 2-day tape delay that will put it all out of sync my friends. More to the point, the episode of Xplosion set to broadcast on the very same Extreme Sports channel as lead in to Sacrifice will actually be talking and showing highlights of Sacrifice and the post-Sacrifice Impact!! Ludicrous if you ask me.

This is simply unacceptable. I’ve sent correspondence on the matter to both TNA and Extreme Sports Channel and hope to have some feedback on the matter soon. Will keep you updated, stay tuned.

*UPDATE* Have since had correspondence with reps at Extreme Sports Channel who have confirmed that this was simply a mistake on their part iwth regards the EPG, which is currently (if not already) rectified. Can confirm TNA Sacrifice WILL air at the alloted time of 22:00pm on Extreme Sports this Friday 21st May – Good news all round!!
