I’ll start by apologizing again for the lateness of the report have got a few things taking up my time at the mo. So if Ray can’t get the usually graphics and stuff up as I know he is busy for a bit himself too so I hope it doesn’t spoil your enjoyment of this weeks column.

The show opens with a recap of the events of last week between Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle. We head inside to the iMPACT Wrestling Zone and Jeff is talking to Eric Bischoff about how he comments last week were a joke. Eric says the Network want it to stand, and anyway they need a guy in Mexico to make the rules down their and Jeff would be perfect. Good stuff and this explains why I have been seeing bits about Jeff being in Mexico and winning titles down their, this could be a really good angle for TNA.

Welcome to my review of Slammiversary IX hope you enjoy it and as I said last night I haven’t seen any spoilers for this maybe 1 by accident so I have no idea what will happen. Firstly I must say a massive thanks to my wife Helen who over the last couple of days has become a wrestling widow while I have written these last 2 reports.

So the show opens with the usual type video hyping the show. Mike Tenay and Taz welcome us to this “historic” 9th annual Slammiversary, they run down the big matches for tonight.

– We open with the Immortals celebrating Thanksgiving. Bischoff loves the holiday is happy to be with them, the real stars. I believe Eric Young is one of the servers for the meal. Bischoff then says he regrets the way some things went down, but he wants to invite Dixie Carter to dinner tonight to make things right. Hogan doesn’t approve of this, and then they all start to argue.

We open with highlights of Turning Point including Stevie Richards challenging A.J. Styles, Pope’s “Congregation” turning on him, and Jeff Hardy retaining his TNA Title against Matt Morgan. The show title: “Night of the Immortals.”

New theme song for the Immortals tonight, sounds like a Jimmy Hart knockoff of Jimi Hendrix voodoo child that Hogan used to use as his nWo theme back in WCW. Eric Bischoff walked out tapping his heart and sarcastically bowing as if his boos were cheers – i really feel like i’ve been transported back to 1998 and am watching WCW Nitro – less of this please TNA, Thanks.

Behind Bischoff is Abyss, Jeff Jarrett, Ric Flair, Kazarian, Douglas Williams, and A.J. Styles. Tenay said they’ll talk throughout the show about Morgan’s failure to capture the TNA Title from Hardy. Bischoff smiled and said he loves each and every one of the fans.

And here we are again, it’s time for another TNA pay per view and we open with a video package voiced over by the TNA Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy.

TNA X Division Title match – Lethal (Champion) vs. Robbie E

As always TNA opt to start the show off with the X Division which is always a great way to kick off a pay per view. Personally I can’t stand Robbie E so this one doesn’t excite me one bit but I’m optimistic Lethal can keep me entertained. Robbie E is out first out, again the crowds not impressed. Robbie’s accompanied as always by Cookie and loving punching the air, oh dear!
